ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif Friday invited Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) to form the government in Gilgit Baltistan after it emerged as the majority party in elections in the region.

In a statement, he said, “PML-N supports PPP on the issue of government formation in Gilgit-Baltistan.”

“PML-N has decided to sit in the opposition in the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly, but our elected members will vote for PPP so that it can form the government,” he added.

He said, “This decision has been taken keeping in mind democratic traditions and values. PML-N has always maintained a respectful relationship with its allied parties.”
