Summary Technical-level talks between the US and Iran are scheduled to take place in Bürgenstock today
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif along with a high-level delegation departs for Switzerland to attend technical-level talks between the United States and Iran under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir is also expected to attend the important discussions scheduled to be held on Sunday (today). Following the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, technical-level talks will be held today in the city of Bürgenstock, Switzerland.
Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir will participate in the talks.
According to sources in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will also attend the International Water Treaty Conference to be held in Switzerland, where global water resources management and water-related agreements will be discussed.
On the other hand, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi is also expected to participate in the talks in Switzerland.
Sources say that the Pakistani delegation will present its position on important diplomatic and technical issues.
The meeting follows the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, with the technical dialogue being arranged as a follow-up mechanism to advance the understanding reached between the concerned parties.
