DANA SAR (Dunya News) - At least 24 people were killed and several others injured after a passenger coach plunged into a ravine in the Dana Sar area between Zhob and Dera Ismail Khan on Friday.
The coach was travelling from Quetta to Peshawar when the accident occurred in the mountainous Dana Sar region, police officials said.
Deputy Commissioner Sherani Wali Kakar said rescue teams were continuing efforts to evacuate the injured despite the difficult terrain.
"The rescue operation is underway, and the injured are being provided immediate medical assistance before being shifted to nearby hospitals," Kakar said, adding that the district administration was closely monitoring the situation.
He said the final casualty count would be confirmed after rescue operations were completed.
Health authorities said an emergency had been declared at nearby hospitals in Balochistan to treat those injured in the crash.
