Summary He alleged that a close relative of Ishaq Dar has been accused of inviting foreign women to Pakistan and subjecting them to alleged rape, torture, and extortion.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Senator Faisal Vawda has demanded resignation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar over alleged involvement of his close relative in subjecting two foreign women to rape, torture and extortion.
In a post on social media platform X, Senator Faisal Vawda said that Ishaq Dar is not only the Deputy Prime Minister but also, the Foreign Minister, saying that Pakistan is being run like a family corporation.
He alleged that a close relative of Ishaq Dar has been accused of inviting foreign women to Pakistan and subjecting them to alleged rape, torture, and extortion. He further claimed that the suspect was arrested only after the intervention of the relevant foreign embassy.
Faisal Vawda also alleged that the government is making every effort to suppress the incident. He claimed there is an attempt to limit the case to extortion rather than rape, and said that the victim's statement under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code, which should have been made public by now, has not yet been released.
He further stated that, in the name of democracy, the country's elite class has taken control of Pakistan. He said that some political dynasties have been looting the country for years and are now also "robbing people of their honour." He expressed regret that the descendants of these political elites now hold the power to decide the fate of Pakistanis.
Vawda also said that the public should note that not a single political party or leader -- whether from the opposition, the government, or its allies -- has issued a statement condemning the alleged incident. He added that those who claim to champion women's rights have also remained silent.
