KANDIAN (Dunya News) - Low-level flooding persisted at Chashma Barrage and Jinnah Barrage in the Indus River, Dunya News reported here on Wednesday.
After the rains, the inflow of water into the Indus River increased again, with low-level flooding in Chashma Barrage and Jinnah Barrage. The inflow of water into Chashma Barrage increased to 327,000 cusecs, and the outflow of water from Chashma Barrage was recorded at 318,000 cusecs.
In 24 hours, 40,000 cusecs of water increased in Chashma Barrage, while low-level flooding continued in Jinnah Barrage, with an inflow of 341,000 cusecs recorded.
The water discharge from Jinnah Barrage has reached 334,000 cusecs.
Earlier, Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) said water flows in most rivers across the province remain normal, although low-level flooding continues at parts of the Indus River and several streams, while authorities have warned of urban flooding and established flood relief camps in vulnerable areas.
According to a PDMA spokesperson, water levels in the Chenab, Jhelum, Ravi and Sutlej rivers remain within the normal range, while water conditions in the hill torrents of Dera Ghazi Khan are also stable.
The spokesperson said low-level flooding persists at Kalabagh and Chashma on the Indus River. Water flow at Kalabagh has been recorded at 340,000 cusecs, while 290,000 cusecs has been recorded at Chashma.
