BAGH (Dunya News) - Sajid Iqbal of the Jammu & Kashmir Awami Dast-o-Bazu party has won the LA-14 Bagh-1 constituency of Azad Jammu & Kashmir, according to unofficial initial election results.
Iqbal secured 40,476 votes, defeating Sardar Atteeq Ahmad Khan, a three-time former prime minister of Azad Jammu & Kashmir, who received 19,234 votes.
The unofficial results were announced after votes were counted at all 214 polling stations in the constituency.
The election was held as part of the third phase of polling in Azad Jammu & Kashmir, with voters casting ballots in four constituencies on Monday.
Iqbal's victory marks a decisive result in LA-14 Bagh-1, where he secured more than twice the number of votes received by his main rival, according to the unofficial count.
The results remain unofficial and are subject to confirmation by the relevant election authorities.
