Summary Rain, strong winds and thunderstorms are expected across upper and central Pakistan from August 21 to 23, while Sindh remains hot.
ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - More rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms has been forecast across upper and central parts of Pakistan during the weekend holidays.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, monsoon currents continue to penetrate upper and central parts of the country, while a westerly wave is also present over the upper regions.
Under the prevailing weather system, intermittent rain is expected in Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Islamabad and various parts of upper Punjab from August 21 to 23.
Rain is forecast in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Jhelum, Chakwal, Attock, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Lahore, Kasur, Sheikhupura and adjoining areas from the evening or night of August 21 until the morning of August 23.
On August 22, thunderstorms and rain are also expected in Sargodha, Faisalabad, Jhang, Sahiwal, Bhakkar, Layyah, Dera Ghazi Khan and surrounding areas.
Various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as well as Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, are also likely to receive rain between August 21 and 23.
In Balochistan, rain is possible in Musa Khel, Barkhan, Zhob, Kalat and Khuzdar on August 21 and 22.
Meanwhile, most parts of Sindh and Balochistan are expected to experience hot and humid weather.
