Summary Army chief Asim Munir and Saudi Defence Minister Khalid bin Salman reaffirmed joint efforts to counter attacks under the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement and discussed regional security cooperation.
RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces (COAS & CDF) Field Marshal Asim Munir and Saudi Minister of Defence HRH Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz have emphasized the continuation of joint efforts to confront attacks targeting the kingdom in accordance with the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement.
Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the two leaders reiterated the commitment during a meeting. They discussed the recent security situation and attacks targeting Makkah al-Mukarramah as well as civilian and economic facilities in the Kingdom.
The two sides also praised the outcomes of the meeting of the Chiefs of Staff of countries participating in the Makkah pact
Both sides underscored the importance of continuing coordinated efforts to address the attacks under the framework of the agreement.
They also discussed matters related to regional security and defence cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
The Saudi side was represented by Minister of State, Member of the Council of Ministers and National Security Advisor Dr. Musaed bin Mohammed Al-Oyayari, Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Fayyadh bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili, and Advisor to the Minister of Defence for Intelligence Affairs Professor Hisham bin Abdulaziz bin Saif.
Field Marshal Asim Munir was accompanied by a Pakistani delegation during the meeting.
