ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) — The Pakistan Navy has seized more than 2,800 kilograms of narcotics worth approximately $750 million in an anti-narcotics operation in the Arabian Sea, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The operation was carried out by Pakistan Navy vessels PNS Hunain and PNS Yarmook as part of ongoing maritime security operations.
According to ISPR, Navy personnel intercepted and searched a suspicious fishing boat during the operation, leading to the recovery of a large quantity of narcotics.
The seized drugs have an estimated international market value of around $750 million, ISPR said.
Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf commended the crews of both naval vessels for successfully carrying out the operation.
The Pakistan Navy said it remains fully prepared to prevent illegal activities at sea and continues to play an active role in safeguarding national maritime interests and contributing to international maritime security.
