Govt-PPP delegation to meet PTI leadership on political situation

Summary President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif discuss security, terrorism and political dialogue, with government-PPP delegation meeting PTI.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a meeting at the President House to discuss the country’s overall political and security situation.

According to a statement issued by the President House, the two leaders expressed concern over the security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

They reviewed the country’s security situation and stressed the need to further strengthen the national resolve against terrorism.

The meeting also highlighted the need for effective coordination among all relevant institutions to ensure peace and stability in the country.

It was also decided that a joint delegation of the federal government and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) would meet the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership tomorrow to hold talks on the prevailing political situation.

The federal government delegation will include Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah and Amir Muqam.

The PPP delegation will comprise Senator Sherry Rehman, Syed Naveed Qamar and Ejaz Jakhrani.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Law and Justice Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, Attorney General Mansoor Usman Awan, Prime Minister’s Adviser Dr Tauqir Shah, Senator Saleem Mandviwalla, Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon and Provincial Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah also attended the meeting.
