Summary Rana Sanaullah said the PTI long march will not be allowed to enter Islamabad, while noting that future talks could remain possible if the opposition cooperates against terrorism.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah has said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) long march will not be allowed to enter Islamabad.
Speaking to the media after talks at Parliament House, Rana Sanaullah said the negotiations primarily focused on the law and order and terrorism situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He said the government had demanded that the provincial government play an effective role in combating terrorism, but the opposition was not willing to cooperate on the issue.
Rana Sanaullah said the government had shown flexibility regarding meetings with PTI founder Imran Khan, but the two sides could not reach an agreement on other key issues.
He made it clear that the proposed PTI long march would not be allowed to enter the limits of Islamabad.
The adviser said the issues on which the two sides failed to reach an agreement were known to everyone. However, he added that the door to future negotiations could remain open if cooperation was extended in the fight against terrorism.
