ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a meeting at Aiwan-i-Sadr here on Tuesday and discussed the country’s overall political and security situation.
During the meeting, the situation arising from the PTI long march in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also came under discussion. Members of the negotiating committee briefed the President and Prime Minister on the latest developments and the progress of consultations.
The meeting agreed that the consultation process would continue before any constitutional or legal action is taken. The leadership stressed the importance of further deliberations and dialogue to address the prevailing situation.

Earlier, Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political Affairs Senator Rana Sanaullah said the government’s offer for talks remains on the table, adding that negotiations can take place if Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) ends its long march.
Speaking on Dunya News programme Dunya Mehr Bukhari Kay Sath, Rana Sanaullah said all institutions and provincial governments should unconditionally support the federal government’s decisions in the fight against terrorism.
He said PTI should also stand unconditionally with Pakistan and the federal government in the war against terrorism.
