SINGAPORE (Web Desk) – Pakistan's Shahzaib Rind has won the World Karate Combat Light Heavyweight Championship in Singapore. 

Hailing from Balochistan, Rind defeated his Brazilian rival Luiz Victor Rocha in final. The victory is historic as he has become the first world champion from Pakistan in martial arts. 

The MMA star also shared his feeling in a post on Facebook, stating: “I am proud to be the first World Champion from Pakistan in Martial Arts. History has been made! It has been a long and challenging journey, but we did it”. 

He thanked everyone who believed in him and supported his path to success, saying: “It means the world to me”. 

He also praised his coach for polishing his skills, stating that he “always tries to improve my skills.” 

“…you are not just coach but a brother and mentor thank you for being my coach honoured to have you as my coach.” 

Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Singapore Rabia Shafiq also lauded Shahzaib Rind for bringing pride to the nation.
