KARACHI (Dunya News) – Hyderabad Kingsmen defeated Rawalpindiz and confirmed their place in the playoff stage, while defending champions Lahore Qalandars were eliminated from the tournament.
Chasing a massive target of 245 runs, Rawalpindiz were bowled out for just 136 runs in the 39th match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11.
Usman Khan was the top scorer for Rawalpindiz with an unbeaten 66 runs, while captain Mohammad Rizwan made 26 and Sam Billings scored 23. No other batter managed to reach double figures.
The rest of the batting lineup collapsed cheaply, with Dian Forrester scoring 6, Saad Masood 5, Asif Afridi and Amad Butt 3 runs each, and Shahzaib Khan just 1 run. Kamran Ghulam, Mohammad Amir, and Ben Sears were dismissed without scoring.
For Hyderabad Kingsmen, Hunain Shah and Akif Javed delivered a brilliant bowling performance, taking 4 and 3 wickets respectively, while Mohammad Ali and Glenn Maxwell claimed one wicket each.
Earlier, at the National Bank Stadium, Hyderabad Kingsmen posted 244 for 6 in 20 overs after being invited to bat.
Glenn Maxwell top-scored with 70 runs, followed by Usman Khan with 54. Maaz Sadaqat made 28, Saim Ayub scored 12, while captain Marnus Labuschagne managed only 5 and Irfan Khan was dismissed for a duck.
Kusal Perera added a solid unbeaten 50, and Hassan Khan contributed 16 not out.
For Rawalpindiz, Saad Masood took 2 wickets, while Amad Butt, Asif Afridi, and Ben Sears picked up one wicket each.
