(Web Desk) – Sri Lanka defeated Bangladesh by 63 runs in the men’s cricket event at the Asian Games in Japan to secure the bronze medal.

Batting first after winning the toss at Karuizawa Sports Park, Sri Lanka scored 165 for nine in 20 overs.

Tharindu Rathnayake top-scored with a blistering 65 off 32 balls, while captain Sakanth Viyaskanth took two wickets each, while Wanuja Sahan Arachchige contributed 33 runs.

Chasing 166, Bangladesh struggled against Sri Lanka’s bowling attack and were bowled out for 102 in 17.3 overs.

Nuwan Thushara, Tharindu Rathnayake, and Vijayakanth Viyaskanth took two wickets each, while Wanuja Sahan also claimed two wickets.

The victory earned Sri Lanka third place in the men’s cricket competition and the bronze medal at the Asian Games.
