LAHORE (Dunya News) - Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to field first against Pakistan in the fifth ODI of the ongoing tri-series at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on Tuesday.

The match is crucial for Sri Lanka, who need a victory to secure a place in the final. Pakistan, meanwhile, have already qualified for the tournament’s title clash.

In a squad update, Pakistan batter Saim Ayub requested to be released from the national team to play domestic cricket and improve his performance. Following his request, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) added Sahibzada Farhan to the squad.

Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka by 37 runs in their previous meeting. The Green Shirts have also won both of their matches against England, securing victories by 87 runs and one wicket, respectively.

Sri Lanka, meanwhile, registered a two-wicket victory over England in their encounter.

With a place in the final at stake, Sri Lanka will be looking to secure a win, while Pakistan will aim to maintain their momentum ahead of the title decider.
