YouTube introduces AI-driven auto-dubbing in 27 languages, letting viewers watch videos in their own tongue while preserving original voice tone and expression.
SAN FRANCISCO (Web Desk) – YouTube has rolled out a major update, allowing users worldwide to watch videos in their own language with the help of advanced AI technology.
The new feature, powered by artificial intelligence, now supports 27 languages. Viewers can select their preferred language in YouTube settings, and if a dubbed version exists, the platform plays it automatically.
A standout aspect of the update is the “Expressive Speech” technology, designed to maintain the original creator’s voice tone, emotions, and style, avoiding the flat, robotic sound common in traditional dubbing.
Currently, expressive auto-dubbing is available for English, French, German, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish content, with more languages expected soon. The update is seen as a game-changer, breaking down language barriers for global audiences.
YouTube says the move benefits creators by reaching international viewers and gives audiences a more natural and enjoyable experience, making foreign-language content easier to understand and appreciate.
