(Web Desk) - A man in Florida literally swallowed hundreds of thousands of dollars of jewelry after stealing them from a Tiffany’s store in Orlando, police said.
The suspect, 32-year-old Jaythan Lawrence Gilder, allegedly claimed to “represent a professional athlete” to gain access to the pricey jewelry, according to the Orlando Police Department.
Footage here, released by the police, shows Gilder grabbing the jewelry, which including two pairs of earrings valued at $769,500.
“Gilder forcefully took the earrings and resisted an employee’s attempts to stop him. He then ran out of the store, into the parking lot, and fled in a vehicle,” police said.
After the theft, Gilder was caught in Florida following a traffic stop. He resisted arrest and was seen swallowing what police believed to be the stolen earrings.
