RIYADH (Web Desk) - Saudi Arabia’s Civil Defense has issued an early warning for Jeddah, Khamis Mushait, Yanbu, Taif, Abha and the Jazan region through the National Early Warning Platform.
The alert warned citizens and residents of a potential emergency and urged them to follow official safety instructions.
Civil Defense advised people to remain calm and immediately move to the nearest safe location inside a building, preferably an interior room away from windows.
Residents were told to remain indoors until authorities confirm that the danger has passed and not to leave their homes or buildings during the alert.
Safety guidelines
Authorities advised people to avoid open areas, windows, glass structures, balconies and rooftops during the warning.
People who are outdoors should enter the nearest building or seek shelter behind a solid barrier.
Civil Defense also urged the public not to gather, take photographs or approach hazardous locations after receiving the warning.
Drivers who receive the alert while travelling were advised to pull over safely, away from bridges and tall buildings.
Emergency numbers
Authorities said residents should call 911 in the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh and the Eastern Province in case of danger.
The emergency number for other areas of Saudi Arabia is 998.
