ISLAMABAD – Pakistan has announced a reduction in petrol prices in its latest weekly fuel price review, providing some relief to motorists across the country.
The revised ex-depot rates, issued by the Ministry of Energy's Petroleum Division on Thursday, will come into effect from June 6, 2026.
According to the official notification, the price of Motor Spirit (MS), commonly known as petrol, has been reduced by Rs4 per litre. The new rate has been set at Rs377.78 per litre, down from Rs381.78 per litre.
In contrast, the price of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) has been maintained at its existing level. The government kept the diesel rate unchanged at Rs380.78 per litre, with no increase or decrease announced for the upcoming week.
The revised rates were issued as part of the government's regular review of petroleum product prices.
The latest announcement follows the government's ongoing practice of periodically reviewing domestic fuel prices and adjusting them in line with prevailing market conditions and pricing mechanisms. The new rates will remain in effect until the next fuel price review is announced.
