KARACHI (Dunya News) - Pakistan’s stock market closed sharply lower on Thursday, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index losing 1,332 points amid heavy selling pressure.
The KSE-100 Index initially gained 699 points during early trading, rising above the 170,600-point level.
However, the positive momentum quickly reversed within a few hours, with selling pressure pushing the market lower for the remainder of the trading session.
At the close, the benchmark index stood at 168,636 points, down 1,332 points from the previous session’s close of 169,969 points.
The sharp decline reduced the overall value of listed shares, resulting in losses worth billions of rupees for investors.
Market activity remained volatile throughout the session as the index moved from early gains to a significant decline by the close.
