Summary Pakistan’s inflation rose 1.27% in September, with annual inflation reaching 10.26% and electricity and fuel prices registering notable increases.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Pakistan’s inflation rate increased by 1.27% during September, while inflation for the July-September period was recorded at 10.20%, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).

The report showed inflation at 10.26% in September 2026 compared with September 2025. During the month, inflation increased by 1.31% in urban areas and 1.23% in rural areas.

On a monthly basis, onion prices rose 29.17%, wheat 3.86%, flour 2.28%, masoor pulse 1.56% and dry fruits 1.27%. In urban areas, electricity prices increased 15.28%, motor fuel 10.76% and medicines 0.98%. Tomato prices fell 24.68%, chicken 8.14%, eggs 5.92%, potatoes 4.19% and moong pulse 2.09%.

In rural areas, gram pulse rose 2.42%, wheat flour 1.72%, wheat 1% and vegetables 0.87%. Tomato prices declined 27.87%, chicken 7.57%, eggs 2.92%, fruits 2.56%, potatoes 2.30% and sugar 1.70%, while electricity and motor fuel prices increased 15.28% and 11.13%, respectively.
