DUBAI (Dunya News) – Indian star cricketer Virat Kohli may not be in the best of forms in batting but he had a moment of pride in the first Champions Trophy match against Bangladesh when he equalled Azharuddin’s record of highest catches by an Indian in ODIs.

Kohli took 156th catch of his career in 298 matches. He took the catch of Bangladesh batsman Jaker Ali in 43rd over being bowled by Muhammad Shami at Dubai Stadium.

Muhammad Azharuddin had taken 156 catches in 334 ODIs. Sachin Tendulkar is on second number with 140 catches.

The record of highest ODI catches is held by Sri Lanka’s Mahela Jayawrdene, who took 218 catches in 448 matches.
