Three policemen arrested in abduction for ransom case

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Three policemen have been arrested on charges of abduction for ransom, Dunya News reported here on Tuesday.
According to police, the suspects identified as Constable Waqas, Nafees and Constable Asif had kidnapped a doctor and released him after taking Rs500,000 ransom.
Their two accomplices Rana Qurban and Adnan were on the run, and police were raiding to track down them. All the five accused were posted at Model Town police station.
According to DIG Operations, the suspects had kidnapped Dr Mukhtar from his house on Feb 9, and set him free after taking Rs500,000 ransom.
The DIG said the police department took action against 330 policemen in 11 months.

A video had gone viral on social media featuring some policemen drawing money from an ATM, which later turned out to be the video of the suspects, who took the ATM card of the abductee. The video has been confirmed by the police department, after which the suspects have been arrested.
