Three detained suspects were injured in two police encounters in Faisalabad after accomplices opened fire. The suspects, wanted in multiple robbery cases, were shifted to hospital.
FAISALABAD (Dunya News) - Three under-custody suspects were injured during two alleged police encounters in different areas of Faisalabad.
According to police, teams from Sadar Police Station and D-Type Colony Police Station were transporting detained suspects for recovery of stolen property when armed accomplices suddenly opened fire on the police party.
Police officials stated that the teams retaliated, leading to an exchange of fire from both sides. During the crossfire, three detained suspects sustained injuries.
They were identified as Asif, Atif and Usman.
Police further revealed that the injured suspects were wanted in dozens of cases involving robbery, theft, highway robbery and looting.
Authorities said the accomplices managed to flee the scene while firing, and a search operation has been launched to arrest the escaping suspects.
The injured men were shifted to hospital for medical treatment, while further investigation into the incidents is underway.
