SHEIKHUPURA (Dunya News) – A WAPDA executive engineer was killed after unidentified motorcycle riders opened fire on him while he was travelling on the GT Road in Muridke, police said on Wednesday.
According to police, the victim, identified as Rab Yar, was travelling from Muridke towards Lahore in an official vehicle when the attackers targeted him.
The assailants opened fire on the vehicle and fled the scene on a motorcycle. The motive behind the shooting was not immediately known.
Police reached the scene following the incident and took the victim's body into custody. Legal proceedings have been initiated, while further investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the killing.
Police officials said Rab Yar had been serving as an executive engineer (XEN) with WAPDA in Muridke for the past two years.
The deceased was originally from Okara, according to police.
