(Web Desk) - Social media can often be a hub for misinformation, and recently, former Pakistan fast bowler Wasim Akram found himself caught in an unnecessary controversy.
His wife, Shaniera Akram, strongly reacted to a post on X (formerly Twitter) that included Akram’s name in a list of cricketers who have been legally separated from their spouses.
The post, titled ‘Divorced XI,’ was widely circulated, prompting Shaniera to set the record straight.
The post was shared by the X account Out Of Context Cricket, which listed several well-known cricketers who had gone through divorces, including Ravi Shastri, Javagal Srinath, Dinesh Karthik, and Shikhar Dhawan.
Additionally, Indian leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal was named as the “impact player” of the so-called team.
However, among these names was Akram, which did not sit well with his wife, Shaniera, as the Pakistani legend has never been divorced.

Shaniera, known for being vocal on social media, wasted no time in calling out the post for spreading incorrect information.
She re-shared the tweet and wrote: “Hey @GemsOfCricket. You guys are definitely ‘out of context,’ and from what I can see, you’re also out of correct and reliable information!”
