PESHAWAR (Web Desk) - A meeting of the apex committee of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was held in Peshawar on Thursday with Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur in the chair.

Corps Commander Peshawar, chief secretary, IGP and high civil and military officials attended the meeting.

The forum agreed to improve the quality of life of the people of the merged districts and to pay special attention to socio-economic development of districts.

It was also agreed to spend more financial resources for rapid social development in the merged districts.

The forum also decided to continue the joint efforts of the civil government, security forces and the people to deal with the scourge of terrorism in the province.

The apex committee agreed on an important initiative of chief minister for the families of martyrs of security forces.

It was decided to give financial package to the families of 178 martyrs who were martyred during the last six months.

The committee also decided to use all available options for law and order in the Kurram district by protecting life and property of people.
