LAHORE (Muhammad Ashfaq) – A significant development emerged in the Ramzan Sugar Mills reference as the complaint, Zulfiqar Ali, retracted his statement in court.
During the hearing at Lahore’s Anti-Corruption Court, Zulfiqar claimed he had not filed the application and was unaware of its contents.
He stated, “ I did not submit any such application and do not know how the reference was filed in my name".
"I withdraw this request”.
Judge Sardar Muhammad Iqbal questioned the validity of his claims, asking if he understood the implications of his statement.
Zulfiqar requested time to prepare an affidavit.
The case, involving allegations of corruption against PM Shehbaz Sharif and his son Hamza Shehbaz, has seen multiple legal twists since 2019.
Further hearings are adjourned until January 30.
