Poor visibility: flight operations affected, sections of motorways shut

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Flight operations at Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore and Sialkot Airport have been affected by poor visibility after a dense fog blanketed plain areas of Punjab on Saturday night, Dunya News reported.

Poor visibility hit six fights at Lahore airport. Flights at Allama Iqbal Airport for Jeddah, Riyadh, Dammam, Dubai, and Muscat were affected after dense fog and poor visibility, whereas Sialkot Airport has been shut owing to poor visibility.

According to PDMA, most parts of Punjab are engulfed by fog, forcing the closure of main highways and motorways.

PDMA has cautioned the road users against poor visibility and bad weather, urging them to avoid unnecessary travelling, and observe precautions in case of necessary journey.

It asked the motorists to use fog light and keep low speed while driving and contact helpline 1129 in case of any emergency.
