IHC dismisses representation filed by five judges against new seniority list
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Islamabad High Court on Monday rejected the representation of its five judges against the change in seniority principle.
Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Aamir Farooq gave a decision on the representation of five judges in which it was mentioned that the seniority list was maintained in the IHC after the transfer of judges from three provincial high courts.
It was said Justice Sarfaraz Dogar, who was transferred from the Lahore High Court to the IHC, will continue to be a Senior Puisne Judge.
Chief Justice Aamir Farooq said that Justice Dogar took oath as a High Court judge in 2015 and judges transferred from provincial high courts did not need to take a new oath again.
The decision states “there is a difference between the appointment and transfer of judges and they both are different things”.
Hence, the representations of Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiani, Justice Tariq Jahangiri, Justice Babar Sattar, Justice Sardar Ijaz Ishaq Khan and Justice Saman Rifaat was rejected.
