KALABAGH (Dunya News) - Former Prime Minister and Awam Pakistan Party head Shahid Khaqan Abbasi emphasised that the country's stability and security lie in loyalty to the Constitution.

Addressing a Seerat Conference in Mari Indus, Abbasi asserted that Pakistan’s challenges can only be resolved by ensuring governance in line with constitutional principles.

“If we aspire to move forward as a nation, decisions must be made on the foundation of justice. The solution to our national problems is simple: implement the Constitution,” he stated.

Expressing concern over the country’s deviation from constitutional norms, the former premier remarked, “It is unfortunate that we have drifted away from the Constitution. Allah has given us a framework for life, and progress can only be achieved by adhering to it. Every constitutional office-holder in Pakistan takes an oath to uphold the Constitution, yet today, people are left questioning their future and that of the country."

Abbasi further noted that Pakistanis are among the most charitable people in the world, yet many hesitate to fulfil their tax obligations. He also remarked that ideological differences hold little significance in religion.

Referring to global reactions to the situation in Gaza, he pointed out that Western nations have raised their voices in solidarity with Palestinians.
