KARACHI (Dunya News) - An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Karachi has extended the physical remand of the accused Armaghan and Shiraz in the Mustafa Amir murder case for five more days.

During the hearing, the investigating officer requested a 14-day remand, stating that two employees of Armaghan need to record their statements under Section 164, and the forensic analysis of weapons and a laptop recovered from Armaghan’s house is pending.

During the proceedings, Armaghan collapsed in the courtroom, prompting the court staff to assist him and offer water. When asked if he had anything to say, Armaghan started crying, and seeing him, his father also broke into tears.

The prosecutor general informed the court that Armaghan had similarly collapsed in the High Court and ATC-2, but his medical examination confirmed he was fit. Armaghan, however, alleged that he was not being provided food.

Meanwhile, Armaghan’s mother submitted a power of attorney through lawyer Tahir Rehman Tanoli, but Armaghan denied that he was his lawyer, claiming he was tricked into signing documents before.

Shiraz’s lawyer argued that his client had no connection to the case, stating that the police raided his house without female officers and even took his sister’s laptop. He also claimed that he was not allowed to obtain Shiraz’s signature for legal representation.

The court ordered a medical examination of Shiraz but rejected a request from his sister to meet him.

Following the arguments, the ATC extended the physical remand of both accused, Shiraz and Armaghan, for five more days.
