KARACHI (Dunya News) - The Sindh High Court has ordered withdrawal of administrative authority from the anti-terrorism court judge, who had refused to grant physical remand of the accused in Mustafa Amir murder case.

A two-member bench, headed by Justice Zafar Rajpoot, issued the detailed verdict of the case on Tuesday.

Acting prosecutor general claimed that the SHC had withdrawn powers from the judge on the allegation of tampering with record.

PHYSICAL RAMAND OF ACCUSED

Earlier, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) of Karachi granted four-day physical remand of prime accused Armaghan and his friend Shiraz in the gruesome murder case of young Mustafa Amir.

Police produced Armaghan before the ATC II while Sindh Prosecutor General Muntazir Mehdi also appeared before the court.

The ATC in next hearing extended the physical remand of accused Armaghan and Shiraz for five more days.

During the hearing, the investigating officer requested a 14-day remand, stating that two employees of Armaghan needed to record their statements under Section 164, and the forensic analysis of weapons and a laptop recovered from Armaghan’s house was pending.

During the proceedings, Armaghan collapsed in the courtroom, prompting the court staff to assist him and offer water.
When asked if he had anything to say, Armaghan started crying, and seeing him, his father also broke into tears.

The prosecutor general informed the court that Armaghan had similarly collapsed in the high court and ATC-2, but his medical examination confirmed he was fit. Armaghan, however, alleged that he was not being provided food.

BONE-CHILLING DETAILS

More revelations about the tragic case surface as police dig deep into it. A Gazri police station official is alleged to have supported accused Armaghan.

The statements of Zoma and Angelina, two girls said to be common friends of both Armaghan and the slain Mustafa, reveal sexual abuse.

Sources say Armaghan called Zoma to his house and questioned her about her activities on New Year night. He also brutally tortured Zoma and captured her objectionable pictures, say sources.

They say Shiraz was also present at that time. Later, sources say, Armaghan informed a police officer about torture of Zoma and asked him to take her to hospital.

On policeman’s refusal, he sent Zoma to hospital for treatment by a cab and also asked Shiraz to follow her and ensure that she went directly to the National Medical Centre.

The hospital administration sent for police and informed them that the girl had been sexually abused. Police, however, returned after some time.
