Former naval chief Iftikhar Sirohey passes away

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Former chief of naval staff of Admiral retired Iftikhar Ahmed Sirohey passed away in Islamabad.
Pakistan Navy spokesperson said Sirohey was commission in the navy in 1955, adding that he also participated in wars fought against India in 1965 and 1971.
He served as the Pakistan Navy chief from 1986 to 1988 and chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee from 1988 to 1991.
Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf has expressed condolence over the death of Sirohey. He also paid tribute to him for his services.
