LHC completes One-Link Project for FIR-to-verdict record

LAHORE (Muhammad Ashfaq) – For the first time in Pakistan’s history, FIRs and case proceedings will be digitally accessible from registration to final verdict.
Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice Aalia Neelum initiated this project to ensure timely justice and accountability.
During a hearing, she discovered that over 400, 000 case challans were pending due to negligence.
In response, she ordered the One-Link System where authorities can track FIR status, ensuring investigations and prosecutions proceed efficiently.
Punjab IG Dr Usman Anwar, Prosecutor General Syed Farhad Ali Shah, and IT experts completed the project, which is now set for implementation.
Shah called it a major achievement, unique to Punjab’s judiciary.
Legal experts Ahsan Bhoon praised Justice Neelum’s reforms, saying they will improve the criminal justice system and reduce case backlogs.
The initiative marks a historic step in leveraging technology for judicial efficiency.
