PM announces Rs5 million compensation for families of Islamabad suicide attack victims

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced compensation for the relatives of the victims of a recent suicide blast that targeted a mosque in Islamabad, vowing that the lives lost in the incident would not go in vain.
Speaking on the occasion, the prime minister condemned the attack, calling it an act of extreme brutality. “There can be no worse example of barbarity than this incident. It was a conspiracy to create division, but it has failed,” he said.
Shehbaz Sharif announced a compensation package of Rs5 million for each family of the martyrs. He also declared Rs3 million for those who sustained serious injuries and Rs1 million for individuals who suffered minor injuries in the attack.
Later, the prime minister visited the residence of Aoun Abbas, who was martyred while attempting to stop the suicide attacker. He paid tribute to Abbas’ bravery and sacrifice. PM announced Rs10 million compensation for Aoun Abbas family.
The premier reaffirmed the government’s commitment to combating terrorism and standing united against attempts to destabilize the country.
