Summary Punjab government plans e-bike scheme for teachers with subsidy and interest-free instalments, aiming to ease commuting and provide affordable, modern transport facilities across the province.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Punjab government has decided to introduce an e-bike scheme for teachers, aimed at providing affordable and convenient transport facilities across the province.

According to officials, CM Punjab e-bike teacher scheme will offer electric bikes to educators on interest-free instalments, easing their daily commuting challenges.

Applications for the scheme will soon be opened online, with teachers required to apply through the Punjab Teachers Foundation website. Applicants must submit their CNIC, service certificate, driving licence, and a passport-sized photograph.

After submission, candidates will need to download a verification slip, while confirmation of eligibility will be communicated via SMS or email upon completion of the verification process.

Under the scheme, the cost of each e-bike is estimated between Rs200,000 and Rs250,000. The government will provide a subsidy of 30 to 40 per cent, while the remaining amount can be paid in easy instalments over two to three years.

Sources indicate that the expected monthly instalment will range from Rs3,600 to Rs4,200, making modern and cost-effective transport more accessible for teachers.
