PESHAWAR (Dunya News) - Afghan Taliban have once again targeted Pakistani civilian population in border areas adjacent to Angoor Adda in South Waziristan, security sources said, in a mortar shelling incident that injured five members of a single family and caused panic in the region.

According to security sources, on April 29, 2026, Afghan Taliban fired a mortar shell in the border area which landed on the house of local residents Kareem Khan and Rehmatullah.

As a result, five members of the same family, including three children, sustained injuries.

Eyewitness Noor Ali said that the shell suddenly struck the house, causing a powerful explosion, while another affected resident stated that the blast was so intense that the entire house shook.

Local residents said that civilians, especially children, are being repeatedly targeted in cross-border shelling incidents, creating an ongoing atmosphere of fear and insecurity in the area.

Security sources further stated that the continued targeting of civilian populations by Afghan Taliban reflects, in their view, a lack of regard for humanity and civilian safety.
