Summary Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will visit Iran and Türkiye for high-level meetings, condolences and talks on trade, investment and regional security.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will embark on an official visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Türkiye starting Friday, according to an official statement.

The prime minister will begin his visit in Iran, where he will attend the funeral prayers and burial ceremonies of the late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. He will be accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, members of the federal cabinet and senior government officials.

During his stay in Iran, Shehbaz Sharif will meet the Iranian leadership and bereaved family members to convey condolences on behalf of the government and people of Pakistan. He will also reaffirm Pakistan's solidarity with the brotherly nation during this period of mourning.

Following the Iran visit, the prime minister will travel to Istanbul at the invitation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The two leaders are expected to discuss all aspects of bilateral relations, with particular focus on expanding cooperation in trade and investment, as well as regional peace and security.

During his visit to Istanbul, Shehbaz Sharif will also address a business conference hosted by Pakistan to showcase the country's investment opportunities in special economic zones, energy, trade, information technology and privatization.

The conference will bring together prominent Turkish business leaders, investors, senior government officials and representatives of the business community.

According to the official statement, the prime minister's visits to Iran and Türkiye reflect Pakistan's longstanding historical, cultural and brotherly ties with both countries.
