DERA ISMAIL KHAN (Dunya News) – At least six people were killed and two others injured in a violent clash between two rival groups in the Hanyala Shah Hassan Khel area of Dera Ismail Khan, police said on Wednesday.

According to police, five of the deceased belonged to the Ataullah group, while one victim was from the rival faction. A heavy police contingent was deployed to the area to restore order and prevent further violence.

In a separate incident, a woman and two children were injured after unidentified attackers hurled a hand grenade and opened fire at a house in the Wanda Ali area of Kadi Khaisor.

Police said the attack targeted the residence of a man identified as Iqbal. The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Following the incident, family members and local residents staged a protest outside the office of the SP Paharpur, demanding the immediate arrest of those responsible and stronger security measures.

Police said an investigation into the grenade attack and firing incident is underway, while efforts are being made to identify and apprehend the attackers. Authorities have also increased security in the affected areas to prevent further unrest.
