LAHORE (Dunya News) – A ceremony was held at the Governor House in Lahore on Tuesday to celebrate the 71st birthday of President Asif Ali Zardari, where Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan cut a cake alongside Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) workers and offered prayers for the president's health and long life.
PPP workers gathered at the Governor House to mark President Asif Ali Zardari's birthday, where slogans in support of the president and the party were raised during the event.
Addressing participants, Governor Saleem Haider credited President Zardari's policy of political reconciliation with helping maintain democratic continuity in Pakistan. He described the president as an experienced politician who had played a significant role in the country's democratic journey.
The governor said the PPP had consistently made sacrifices for democracy and would continue to support constitutional governance and democratic institutions.
He added that the party remained committed to strengthening democratic values, upholding the Constitution and reinforcing the rule of law.
Speaking about PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the governor said he was a leader who stood firmly by his principles and was not someone who simply agreed with others for political convenience.
The ceremony concluded with prayers for President Zardari's well-being and the country's peace, stability and democratic progress.
