LAHORE (Dunya News) - Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has directed authorities to ensure the installation of fire safety systems in all government hospitals across the province.
Following her directives, Deputy Commissioner Nadeem Nasir sought detailed reports from all government hospitals regarding their existing fire safety arrangements.
Nadeem Nasir said the installation of fire safety systems in government hospitals would be ensured at all costs, adding that work had also begun on installing hydrants at hospitals.
On his instructions, Additional Deputy Commissioner Abdul Rehman, accompanied by Rescue teams, visited several government hospitals to inspect fire safety arrangements.
During the visits, officials reviewed measures to ensure the availability and functionality of fire alarms, hydrants and emergency exits.

Nadeem Nasir said the safety of patients undergoing treatment and hospital staff was the administration’s top priority, adding that negligence would not be tolerated.
He directed the relevant officials to immediately address shortcomings in fire safety arrangements and complete all necessary safety measures.
