Summary Four Fitna al-Khawarij terrorists were killed in a CTD operation in Peshawar’s Budhber area, with weapons and an Afghan identity card recovered.
PESHAWAR (Dunya News) - Four terrorists affiliated with the internationally outlawed Fitna al-Khawarij were killed during a Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) operation in Budhber, Peshawar.
According to the CTD, Khawarij commander Tahir alias Muawiya was patrolling the Budhber area along with his accomplices with the intention of carrying out terrorist activities when security personnel launched the operation, killing four terrorists.
Three submachine guns (SMGs), a pistol, hand grenades, mobile phones, three magazines and several rounds of ammunition were recovered from the militants.
An Afghan identity card was also recovered from the pocket of one of the slain terrorists, showing that he was a resident of Kunar, Afghanistan. Two motorcycles allegedly used by the terrorists were also seized.
The identities of the other slain terrorists are being ascertained, while a search operation is underway in Budhber to apprehend the militants who fled the scene.
The CTD said its Crime Scene Unit and Bomb Disposal Unit (BDU) were called to the site and have begun the necessary forensic and security procedures.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General of Police Zulfiqar Hameed praised the CTD personnel, saying terrorist elements would not be allowed to disrupt law and order and would be brought to justice in accordance with the law.
