Summary Pakistan defeated India 3-0 in the Asian Games 2026 volleyball quarter-final to reach the semi-finals with a dominant performance.
(Web Desk) – Pakistan’s men’s volleyball team defeated India 3-0 in the quarter-final of the 2026 Asian Games at Okazaki Chuo Sogo Park Gymnasium on Thursday.
The Green Shirts made a strong start, winning the opening set 25-19 in 23 minutes to take an early lead.
India fought back strongly in the second set, which lasted 34 minutes, but Pakistan held their nerve to win 25-23 and move within one set of victory.
Pakistan then dominated the third set, winning 25-18 in 25 minutes to complete a convincing 3-0 victory and book their place in the semi-finals.
Opposite Murad Khan led Pakistan’s scoring with 19 points, including 18 successful spikes. Ali Usman Faryad contributed 13 points, while Mohammad Hammad added nine.
Pakistan also held the advantage in attack points, recording 75 compared with India’s 60, while leading 5-4 in blocks. India had the edge in service points and forced 20 opponent errors, one more than Pakistan.
Pakistan had earlier opened their Asian Games campaign with a 3-1 victory over Kazakhstan before defeating Uzbekistan 3-0 to secure a place in the knockout stage.
However, they suffered a 3-0 defeat against hosts Japan in their final pool match.
Meanwhile, Pakistan also reached the final of the men’s team squash event after defeating Hong Kong, China 2-1 at the Nagoya Kinjo Futo Arena, securing at least a silver medal.
Earlier, Pakistan had beaten South Korea 2-0 in the quarter-final of the men’s team squash competition.
