NAGOYA (Dunya News) – Pakistan’s chase of India’s 212-run target is underway in the Asian Games cricket final, with the Green Shirts reaching 76 runs for three wickets after 10 overs.
Sahibzada Farhan and Maaz Sadaqat opened the innings for Pakistan, but Farhan was dismissed after scoring 10 runs off 11 balls. Maaz Sadaqat contributed 23 runs before returning to the pavilion, while Usman Khan scored three runs off six balls before losing his wicket to Shivam Dube.
Earlier, India won the toss and opted to bat first. Suryavanshi and Abhishek Sharma opened the innings and provided India with an attacking start. Suryavanshi was dismissed for 15 off nine balls, while Abhishek Sharma smashed 61 off 28 deliveries.
Ishan Kishan scored 21 runs before being dismissed, while Tilak Varma produced an impressive batting display and completed his half-century off 20 balls.
India posted 211 runs for six wickets in their allotted 20 overs. For Pakistan, Arafat Minhas and Ahmed Daniyal claimed two wickets each, while Abrar Ahmed and Saim Ayub took one wicket apiece.
Sahibzada Farhan is leading Pakistan, with the national team making one change for the final as Saad Masood replaced Wasim Junior. India, meanwhile, retained the same playing XI for the final.
Pakistan’s playing XI comprises Sahibzada Farhan, Maaz Sadaqat, Saim Ayub, Usman Khan, Hasan Nawaz, Abdul Samad, Arafat Minhas, Ahmed Daniyal, Abrar Ahmed, Sufyan Moqim and Saad Masood.
The final is being played in Nagoya, Japan, with rain forecast for the area raising concerns about possible disruption to the Pakistan-India match.
