Summary Punjab CTD arrested 13 terrorists in 98 intelligence-based operations, recovering explosives, three IEDs, 12 detonators and fuse wire, while 52 suspects were held in combing operations.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Punjab arrested 13 terrorists during 98 intelligence-based operations conducted across the province, according to a CTD spokesperson.

The spokesperson said a suspected RAW-linked terrorist, identified as Wajid, was arrested from Pakpattan. The arrested suspects were identified as Usman, Naeem, Abdul Mannan, Wajid, Osama, Usman, Hasan and Babar, among others.

Explosive material, one hand grenade, three improvised explosive devices (IEDs), 12 detonators and 35 feet of fuse wire were recovered from the possession of the arrested suspects, the spokesperson said.

The CTD spokesperson added that 13 cases had been registered against the arrested terrorists.

During the current week, CTD, in coordination with other law enforcement agencies, also conducted 1,595 combing operations across Punjab. A total of 55,416 people were checked during these operations, resulting in the arrest of 52 suspects.

The spokesperson said the CTD was continuing its operations as part of efforts to ensure a safe Punjab.
