Summary Core Stack and Green Arrow Capital will invest over €1 billion to build 13 renewable-powered data centres across Italy.

ROME (Reuters) - Core Stack, Lazzari Group’s digital infrastructure business, and Green Arrow Capital will invest more than €1 billion ($1.12 billion) over the next four years to build 13 mid-size data centres in Italy, the companies said on Wednesday.

The data centres will be powered by renewable energy generated on-site, the companies said.

They expect to obtain the required permits for the first two facilities, in the provinces of Cremona and Verona, by the end of 2027, with operations scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2028.

After developing projects in northern and northeastern Italy, the companies will shift their focus to central and southern regions, they said.

The development programme will rely entirely on an Italian supply chain, according to the companies.
