(Web Desk) – The Saudi government has announced strict penalties for violations of Hajj permit regulations.

The Saudi Ministry of Interior said individuals performing Hajj without a permit or attempting to do so may face fines of up to 20,000 Saudi Riyals. Those who shelter or assist unauthorized pilgrims could be fined up to 100,000 Riyals.

The ministry stated that these regulations will be enforced from 1st Dhu al-Qi’dah to 14th Dhu al-Hijjah.

In addition, individuals who transport visit visa holders to Mecca or other holy sites without authorization will also face fines.

Unauthorized attempts to perform Hajj can result in deportation and a 10-year ban on entering Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, a team from the Ministry of Religious Affairs has departed for Saudi Arabia to oversee preparations for Hajj 2026.

According to officials, the 80-member team includes support staff for pilgrims as well as members of the Pakistan Hajj Medical Mission. Upon arrival in Makkah and Medina, the team will establish central control offices and other essential service centers.

Authorities stated that a reception team will also assume responsibilities ahead of the Hajj flight operation, which is scheduled to begin on April 18.

The ministry added that the advance team will finalize arrangements for pilgrims’ accommodation, meals, and transportation. Meanwhile, the medical mission will set up hospitals and dispensaries to provide healthcare services to Pakistani pilgrims.

In a major relief for pilgrims, the government of Pakistan has announced free SIM cards for use in Saudi Arabia. This facility will allow pilgrims to stay connected with ease through complimentary calls and internet services.

Under the long Hajj package (40 days), pilgrims will receive 600 local and international minutes along with 40GB of internet data. Those opting for the short package will be provided 300 minutes and 25GB of data free of cost.
