Summary Iran executed another man accused of spying for Israel, with courts upholding the sentence, as tensions rise and authorities continue crackdown on alleged foreign intelligence links.

TEHRAN (Dunya News) – Iran has executed another individual accused of spying for Israel, following a Supreme Court order, according to official reports.

Iranian authorities confirmed that the convict, identified as Mehdi Farid, was sentenced to death for allegedly passing sensitive information to Mossad, Israel’s intelligence agency.

According to details published on the judiciary’s website, the accused held a position within a civil defence unit and used his role to access and share classified information with foreign intelligence.

The case was heard in multiple courts, which upheld the death sentence before it was finally confirmed by the Supreme Court. Officials stated that the convict was provided full legal rights and due process before the sentence was carried out.

This execution follows another reported hanging a day earlier of a person allegedly arrested during anti-government protests in January on similar espionage charges.

Tensions remain high between Iran and Israel, with Iranian authorities stating that more than a dozen individuals have been executed in recent months over alleged links to Israeli intelligence.

However, Iran’s judiciary has rejected reports claiming that eight female activists were executed, dismissing such claims as false and urging verification before making public statements.
